Aren't these front-wheel-drive?
It's like a Genesis coupe Beta version!
These are all over my school parking lot.

FWD and were miserable. as were all kias and hyundais of that era.

Yup. I assume loads of them are at your school because they look sporty so the kid feels good but they're not all that fast and FWD so the parents are happy too. Also they're pretty cheap if I recall.

They are FWD indeed, and the Second gen is UGLY AS F/(& (Edit: Second VERSION, not second GEN).

Yes, they are FWD. I was considering one before I was really into cars because they were super cheap!

They are FWD. Fairly cheap performance coupes, similar to the Eclipse and MX-6/Probe

Top Gear rather enjoyed it, at least compared to a second generation Lexus SC.
Still, it is an early 2000s Hyundai.

They do drive surprisingly well. They were the first real sign that Hyundai knows what they are doing.
![]() 07/13/2014 at 16:36 |

Isn't that a facelifted 1st gen? Agreed though, very ugly.
![]() 07/13/2014 at 16:36 |

the second gen Lexus SC was named, by TopGear, the worst car IN THE WORLD.

Yes.
Also, no. As in no don't.

I meant second version, my bad :)

Good god. Burn it.
![]() 07/13/2014 at 16:39 |

A quick CL search shows they are stupidly cheap. No wonder they're all driven by teenagers.

It was good at all things, but great at none of them. At least that's the vibe I always got from it.

If you think I was considering one, you're on drugs. I wouldn't touch this with a mile long pole.

"good"

Ew, no. Nopenopenopenope. I do not like these. -_-

Knock-off bugeye celica.
![]() 07/13/2014 at 16:51 |

Are there people that do? The Genesis coupe is about 2000x better.

Was there ever a time where Hyundai didn't copy someone?
![]() 07/13/2014 at 16:53 |

Yes. I would defiantly drive a genesis coupe. Can't wait to see what the redesign holds!
![]() 07/13/2014 at 16:54 |

I'm kinda hoping it doesn't change much, I really like how it looks right now.
![]() 07/13/2014 at 16:56 |

But imagine a current gen genesis as a coupe...
![]() 07/13/2014 at 16:59 |

I googled Genesis redesign and this came up.
I'm okay with this.

Have you seen the new sedan in person yet?
![]() 07/13/2014 at 17:06 |

Not in person yet, but I've seen tons of pictures. Very, very pretty. And handling by Lotus!
![]() 07/13/2014 at 17:08 |

Glad to hear that.

"Defiantly" or "definitely?" Not asking to be a dick or some kind of grammar nazi, just checking because it changes the meaning of your sentence a fair bit.

Sorry about that. Thanks for pointing that out.

Father had a red one of these in my early teens. hideous, but kinda fun FWIW. Spent a good many weekends keeping it alive despite it's own natural inclination to keel over, till mother sold it in the divorce. *sigh* I miss that car

Oh look a Taurus.
![]() 07/13/2014 at 17:36 |

They look just as good in person.

Ugh. Such horrible vehicles. My friend drives one, yet he's employed as a doctor and his salary per week is similar to the value of that car. Yet he keeps it and drives it a lot . 30k a year or so, if not more. I just don't understand.

One of my buddies had a v6 manual one, drove very well, decent interior, way underpowered for being a v6. Needs some turbo. Also the back seats cannot accomodate an ad without serious neck mods.
